The Problem: Whether it's an on-line library or files provided by your customers, the following things must be considered: What's the largest size a particular image can be printed on? What canvas proportions (width 'vs' height) are best suited to the image proportions What frame sizes do I want to offer to my customers? How can I show my customers the final result before they commit to buy? A key question is "how long do I spend with my customers answering all these questions and showing proofs?" Another very key question is, "what would it cost me to create and manage this system?" The Solution - Smart Uploader The Smart Uploader is a way for your customers to send a file via your website. As part of this process, the system shows them an instant, on-line proof (Smart Proof) that they approve and then submit the order. It's important that your customer views and approves an on-line proof before your send the order for print. The 'Smart Proof' is a way to show your customers how an image will look given a particular frame size and wrapping option. It will also warn your customer if the resolution is too low to print at the given size. If you're wanting to have your customers upload files, then you'll need the Smart Uploader. If you are receiving the files physically from your customer (on CD for example), then you would upload the file into the Smart Uploader. You can then either send your customer an email so they can view the Smart Proof and finalise the order, or you can physically show them the proof if you are providing a face to face service. The SmartProof Engine A key component of the Smart Uploader is that it can analyse an uploaded image, recommend frame sizes, check DPI and show an on-line proof. We call this the SmartProof engine and it's part of the Smart Uploader. If you have some kind of on-line gallery of images, then you'll just need the SmartProof engine, so that as images are selected (or placed into a shopping cart), you can suggest frame sizes, show the various wrapping types and get them to approve the order. Either way, don't write and mange your own system - just use ours. Using our Smart Uploader and / or SmartProof is worth tens of thousands in programming time and means you don't have to worry about managing incoming orders, sending those orders to us, providing on-line proofs, etc. You just watch the orders come in, knowing that all the relevant information goes directly to us and that we ensure the order is printed and sent. Whatever options you need, we can make this system available to your and it can be integrated into your site, or can operate as a separate module to your site. By 'module' we mean your customer would be sent to www.smartproof.com.au in a separate window to either view a proof, or upload an image. It all depends on what you are offering your customers and what website system, if any, you have in place. Either way, the systems would be branded with your logos and colour scheme and would be customised to your requirements. The customer then continues through to confirming delivery and payment details and submits their order.
