SmartProof Image Library
SmartProof have developed a light-weight, completely customisable, MANAGED, image library that can be hosted on YOUR server.
Why is it smart?
- We install, configure, and even 'skin' the image library to your specifications. We'll even upload your first batch of images so you can see it all working before you need to get your hands dirty.
- Like the Smart Uploader, it resides on our server meaning any updates we make to it's functionality are immediately available to anyone using the image library.
- A common problem with systems that exist on a server other your own web server is that to access the system, a new window must be opened or you need to direct customers away from your site, to something like www.myimagelibrary.smartproof.com.au. This image library however is completely integrated into your own site - seamlessly without any iframes, HTML frames or anything tricky. To be clear, users visit www.yourwebsite.com.au to see your image library.
- There is nothing to install on your server. Just copy a few .php files into a gallery directory and you are up and running. You don't need any SQL databases either.
- You store all the images on smartproof.com.au. Therefore you don't need vast amounts of space on your web server.
- The thumbnails are generated on the smartproof server but are copied to your server the first time a user views the image, making the display of images after the first view very fast.
- You no longer need to think about integrating the SmartProof engine into your image library so it automatically recommends various frame sizes based on image proportions. The SmartProof engine is integrated into our image library.
- If you are linking to the Smart Uploader to finalise orders from the image library, it's completely seamless because the image library shopping cart and the Smart Uploader shopping cart are in fact the same shopping carts.
Features
- Original images are protected from direct download. People can't steal your images
- Thumbnails are protected via watermarks.
- You can have multiple galleries ("abstract, people", etc), of which some can be flagged as feature galleries ("Special guest photographer, Mr x", etc). Each gallery can have unlimited number of images in them.
- Each image can have a title, description, keywords and price.
- Full EXIF / Meta Data extraction.
- Full search functionality across title, description, keywords, gallery name, filename.
- Ability to browse by gallery.
- Shopping cart system where many images can be added to the cart, deleted from the cart.
- It can offer any the following products to customers - canvas, photo & fine art paper, acrylic.
- The interface can be 'skinned' to look however you like.
- Simple admin interface to modify existing image details (price, title, description, keywords).
- Optimised for easy search engine indexing.
- Image caption keywording for better SEO (Search Engine Optimisation).
- Users don't need to log in / create an account to make a purchase.
- Users don't need flash installed, or even javascript turned on. It's compatible with any browser.
- Choice of how large the "small" and "large" thumbnails are.
- You can have thumbnails displayed in a pre-defined grid of x rows by y columns, or as many images to a page as possible.
Costs
We simply charge an initial setup fee of $180 ex GST. This covers the cost of setting up your account, 'skinning' the image library to look and feel how you want, and running you through the system.
We then charge a monthly fee of $45 ex GST. You can stop using it at any time. |
